Preamble to Tasting Reports:

The reports that follow are written with the software program WINETASTER®. (1) Unless specifically stated, all wines are tasted blind. Tasters know which wines are being tasted, but the original labels on the bottles are replaced with "A," "B," "C," and so on. (2) Comments attached to tasting results represent a group consensus unless attribution is given to a specific individual. (3) We will be happy to post the tasting results of anyone who provides us with the "html" file automatically generated by the report generator in the WINETASTER® software program.

As of January 2012, the Tasting Reports have been substantially expanded by the addition of some notes that have surfaced from the pre-1998 era. The notes from 1986 to 1998 are often incomplete and thus many of the tastings that took place in that period cannot be included. We include here only those tastings that careful study has determined have complete notes documenting them.

We retain the custom of listing reports in order of increasing longevity. Since the earliest report prior to the inclusion of the newly discovered ones is numbered Report 1, we adopt the comvention of numbering the newly included reports with negative numbers; thus the most recent "newly discovered" report will be numbered Report -2, the one before that as Report -3, etc. Note that there is no Report -1.
